Why we exist - Our Mission and Purpose

This Church exists to bring Jesus to the Gryffe Community.
We aim to be a loving and nurturing church, fulfilling the
Great Commandment and the Great Commission.

THE GREAT COMMANDMENT Mark 12: 29-31	The most important commandment is this, 'Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.' The second is this, 'Love your neighbour as yourself.'
THE GREAT COMMISSION Matthew 28: 18-20	All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.

To achieve this purpose, the church commits itself to 7 foundational values:-

Worship	Responding to God with words and acts of adoration
Compassion	Recognising and meeting people's needs
Evangelism	Bringing the message of Jesus to others
Ministry	Serving God by serving people
Discipleship	Following Jesus day by day
Friendship	Developing loving relationships
Education	Developing understanding
